Vocal Chords Skerries is managed and directed by Eimear Mc Nally, M. Mus., Aufbau RSK, B. Mus., BA, PGDE, VHFA.
It is the mission of Vocal Chords Skerries to provide high quality music tuition to the wider community of Fingal and beyond, in an environment where creativity, effort, achievement and a love of music is nurtured.
Vocal Chords Skerries operates from Skerries, Co. Dublin in a bespoke studio space. At all times, the studio has an up to date public liability insurance policy.

INDIVIDUAL LESSONS

VOICE LESSONS
​
Private voice lessons are offered to children and adults alike, at all levels, ranging from beginners to professionals. Lessons include vocal technique, breathing, voice projection and languages, alongside a variety of styles of music.
Younger students will learn through fun games and age appropriate lyrics. Maybe you sing in a choir, maybe singing is something you always wanted to explore? In any case, lessons are tailored to engage fully with each individual student and exams are taken with the Royal Irish Academy of Music (RIAM) for those who wish to follow this route.
In our busy lives, singing offers a phenomenal resource in releasing stress and allows us listen to our bodies and grow in confidence when performing.
PIANO LESSONS

Similarly, piano lessons are offered to children and adults alike at all levels.
Regardless of level, all tuition will see individual goals being met. Piano students will learn proper technique, understand and become familiar with various music ages and above all, learn through fun and innovative methods.
Perhaps you would like to learn a party piece or perhaps it’s something that has always been on your bucket-list of things to do? Exams are taken with the Royal Irish Academy of Music (RIAM) for those who wish to follow this route.
Learning the piano improves co-ordination and concentration, while also stimulating creativity and memory development.
Above all, lessons will be used to foster a love for music and the piano!
GROUP CLASSES

INTRODUCTION TO MUSIC (5-7 YEAR OLDS)
​
This is a small group class (maximum of 6 students) in which children engage with music in stimulating and fun ways. Through active music making, boys and girls are introduced to the basic elements of music fundamental to learning to play an instrument.
Classes consist of games, singing, movement, playing percussion instruments and listening to music.
This class may be taken as a stand-alone class or as a pre-instrumental class to studying voice and/or piano.
VOCAL GROUP CLASSES
There is a Junior Vocal Group for students aged 7-12. This is available to existing vocal students and new students alike.
This class concentrates on all elements of the private classes but also allows the opportunity to engage in harmony singing, good teamwork and as with all the classes, lots of fun!
GROUP MUSICIANSHIP/THEORY CLASSES
This class will concentrate on musicianship lessons, dealing with theory and the rudiments of music. The approach is practical and fun, combined with some written parts, where appropriate. If desired, students will be prepared for the Royal Irish Academy of Music (RIAM) musicianship exams. Students will only be placed in a group appropriate to their level.
Classes are also available in preparation of the Junior Cert Music and Leaving Cert Music practical’s and state exams.
